My skills and abilities include, but are not limited to:

• Time management

  • ​I have never turned in a story or homework assignment late in my collegiate career.​ I go out of my way to show up to desk meetings, classes, etc. at least 20 minutes early.

• Interviewer/Reporter: Two years experience

  • I am very comfortable with interviewing and reporting on my beats. I have effectively communicated with the CMU baseball, women's basketball and women's soccer head coaches in the past. I quickly became acquainted with assistant coaches as well.

• AP Style: Four years experience

  • I have ​been using AP Style in my writing exclusively for four years. I would hope I know a thing or two about journalistic writing style at this point in my career.

• Produce and edit quick copy in an organized and timely fashion

  • I have been under deadline pressure on numerous occasions for several types of stories to be shown in the newspaper, which is highlighted in my demo reel.

• Effective communication and social skills

  • I am able to establish and build relationships in my work and personal life. I still communicate with past CM Life reporters and former CMU athletes.

• Be a team player and do whatever is necessary for the desk to succeed as a whole and help out my colleagues/co-workers to ensure they do the best job possible. If I am needed in order for someone else's work to be better, I am all for it. I expect similar features out of my co-workers as well.
